How do I care for my hat?
BUCKET HATS:
Please wash all bucket hats by hand in cold water with a mild detergent. Wash as little as you can to preserve colour.
Do not soak, bleach or use any harsh chemicals. Avoid chlorinated water.
Please do not tumble dry, wash in warm/hot water or dry clean.
If vinyl design starts to lift at edges, please iron lightly with a muslin or tea towel over the design to re-stick.
Store hat dry, flat and away from direct sunlight. If hat becomes crumbled, lightly iron.
Keep away from sharp or abrasive surfaces to prevent pulls in fabric. Please note that pulls and snags are the nature of terry towelling fabric due to their construction.
VISOR HATS:

What size should I get?
Sizes are for both adults and kids and are based on measurements - so a S can fit a child as well as a small headed adult.
BUCKET HAT SIZING:
TINY - 50cm, XS - 53cm, S - 56cm, M - 58cm, L - 61cm
VISOR HAT SIZING:
S - 51-55cm, M - 55-58cm, L - 58-61cm
BEANIES:
One size fits most. They are super stretchy so will fit approx 52cm to 61cm.
Please always measure you head prior to ordering.
Sizes are only approximate measurements and are for general reference with each hat varying slightly due to their handmade nature as well as depending on the fabric used.
Please note there will be some variations in sizing due to the fabric used which will be noted in the item description. The black towelling is chunkier in style so therefore comes up a little more snug so we suggest sizing up in this style if you are unsure or in-between sizes.
If you are in-between sizes, always size up.
If you need help determining your size please contact me at hello@kirstyfate.com as I am happy to help.
Please note, hats with fringing, beads or suspended stars are not designed for children due to choking hazards.

How long will my order take?
Some hats are made to order with a lead time of approx. 3 weeks until they are shipped.
This will vary greatly during peak periods. You will be notified of any changes in lead-times.
Some hats are listed as ‘READY MADE’ this means they are already made so will be shipped sooner. Lead times on these hats are 3-4 business days.
If you need your order by a specified time please let me know and I will do my best. Unfortunately I will never be able to guarantee orders arriving by set dates as shipping times are out of my hands.
Express shipping may be available for Australian orders with an additional fee. Please contact me at hello@kirstyfate.com if you would like to discuss.

HOW ARE THEY MADE?
Almost all of the hats are made to order. This allows for minimal wastage as only required sizes and designs are produced.
The bucket hats and visors are handmade. The beanies are not handmade but are hand embellished.
As everything is made by Kirsty’s hand, this means each piece is extra special. Some of the towelling colour ways are also dyed by hand. This means there may be very minor variations but it also means each cent you spend with us helps support an Independent business.
So much of our soul and energy has been put into these pieces so we hope you treasure them as much as we do.
We strongly believe in protecting our earth and minimising our impact where ever possible. We are always looking for ways to reduce waste and limit single use plastic. We use biodegradable packaging tape and cardboard/paper options where possible. Please do get in touch with any suggestions you have :)
