WELCOME TO MY COLOURFUL WORLD!
35 Art & Craft Club children, six adults, and I recently undertook a very special project in the heart of Brisbane City.
We had the privilege of painting two traffic signal boxes as part of the Artforce Brisbane initiative run by Brisbane City Council.
Something I live by—and share with all the children in my Art & Craft Club—is this: It doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful. Life and art are never perfect. They can be messy, full of mistakes, a little bumpy and flawed… and still be utterly, joyfully wonderful.
Over four days in October, we painted, stencilled, and masking-taped our hearts out to create a vibrant piece of community art that can now be shared with all of Brisbane.
Getting to experience this alongside so many of my amazing Art & Craft Club kids, their families, some of my cherished friends, and my own little family was truly unforgettable.
You can go see our boxes on the corners of Turbot & Albert Streets, just a stones throw from King George Square.
